BIOGRAPHY
Claude Cormier grew up by the sea, in this corner of paradise called the Îles-de-la-Madeleine. A professional fisherman, the young thirty-year-old has been fascinated by music for many tides: he has accumulated 10 years of touring and studio for 5 self-produced albums. Claude Cormier writes everyday events and sings them wonderfully well.
In 2008, the singer-songwriter was doubly rewarded at the Festival Western de St-Tite, when his song A better tomorrow won first prize in the Concours Étoiles Galaxie Radio-Canada (Folk/Rock category) in addition to receiving the from SOCAN for the award-winning song.
Invited to the programs Pour l'amour du country and Tout le monde à bord!, the one who describes himself as '' a singer, a guitarist '' was able to rub shoulders with influences: Patrick Normand and Ronald Bourgeois. Far from hiding, isolated on his marvelous Islands, Claude Cormier produces and performs numerous shows every year, in the Magdalen Islands, in Quebec, in New Brunswick and in France.
Faced with the success of previous albums, the bum from a good family returns with an album all in simplicity: Claude Cormier - Acoustique. A meeting with a folk flavor, with a touch of Acadian warmth and this island poetry characteristic of the Madelinots! For the song Mon hockey, Claude Cormier is accompanied by Suroît.
