The quest for the gift of ubiquity is a race against time. From one screen to another, we want to be everywhere at once, very often at the expense of the present moment that slips through our fingers. Martin Lizotte knows it well: "music is a good remedy for reconciling with the passage of time".
It is this quest that guided the distinguished pianist and hacker in the composition of an album with ethereal melodies, a true ode to free music and the imagination. Ubiquité is a wandering and mystical work, which strips us of our bodily envelope to plunge our soul into a fascinating universe of original music.
Composed partly in Montreal and in Deschambault, the music of Ubiquité was recorded at the Makina studio and in the former convent of Cap Lauzon. Mathieu Désy signs the production and the mixing of the album in addition to making it vibrate his polyphonic double bass with 5 strings.
