Their eponymous debut boasts production credits from Babyface's protege Jon John, Laney Stewart (K-Ci \u0026amp; Jo-Jo) and J-Dub (Kelly Price, Sean \"Puffy\" Combs and Faith Evans) among a string of others. For this reason, it's difficult to discern where Ideal US are really coming from. They can sing, but their sound is cribbed from R Kelly and Jodeci. This magpie approach to song writing does throw up some interesting musical ideas and occasionally some pretty pleasant songs. The best by far is \"Creep Inn\", a sweltering mid-tempo R\u0026amp;B ballad that proves that they can write anthems. \u003ci\u003eIdeal\u003c\/i\u003e is an album by reasonable talents with solid production, which neither disappoints or excites. However until R\u0026amp;B throw up another male group of the caliber of Tony! Tony!
