Details: (In French With Forced English Subtitles) Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain is a French film directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet which was released in 2001. It is a romantic comedy written by Jean-Pierre Jeunet and Guillaume Laurant with Audrey Tautou in the title role. Amélie Poulain has a fixed idea in mind: to make people happy. From her neighbors to her colleagues and customers of the small café in Montmartre where she is a waitress, everyone sees their life turned upside down one day by this mischievous young girl, until the moment she falls in love with a sex shop employee, collector of abandoned photo booths. But in Amélie's world, nothing is simple. An image that is still just as dazzling, to which Jean-Pierre Jeunet had nevertheless accustomed us, which serves up a magical and invigorating story, such is the plot of a surprising film, with worldwide success, a tidal wave that never ends pour out happiness and love with, as a backdrop, a dream Paris, an ideal Montmartre inhabited by judiciously employed actors, from Audrey Tautou to Mathieu Kassovitz via the moving Jamel Debbouze or the faithful Dominique Pinon. A great DVD for a great movie, surprise hit of 2001. --David Rault --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.
