Years later, they will keep their promise when a conflict arises between one of them, Vivi, and her daughter Sidda Lee. Because although Vivi has become a respectable and refined lady, she is far from having been an exemplary mother. The Ya-Ya will then dive back into their memories to help the girl understand her mother's eccentric past and forgive her. \nCallie Khouri managed a nuanced and often just film, bringing together tasty actresses, like Ashley Judd, dazzling as young Vivi, and Maggie Smith, delectable as ya-ya tongue-in-cheek with a big heart. She quite skilfully recreates this sometimes harsh tale, and delivers a pleasant film, full of ingenious flashbacks and supported by a rather well done dramatic progression.
