Le volume 2 des Plus Grands Succès est composé principalement de chansons enregistrées entre 1980 et 1985, notamment les tubes \"Je l’sais ben\", \"Hit and Run\" et la fameuse reprise de \"Quand les hommes vivront d’amour\", de Raymond Lévesque.\nC’est en public que la formation donnait le meilleur d’elle-même. La voix de Gerry Boulet, plus rauque que jamais, galvanisait les foules. La deuxième moitié de la compilation témoigne de cette énergie brutale et débordante. Certaines pièces sont tirées de l’album live En fusion, alors qu’Offenbach s’était adjoint l’ensemble jazz du réputé pianiste et chef d’orchestre Vic Vogel : les cuivres exultent et donnent un nouveau souffle à un répertoire classique du rock québécois. \"Out of the Rain\", seule pièce inédite, provient du même concert.\nSi la pauvreté de l’emballage déçoit et si l’album ne pose pas un regard vraiment neuf sur l’édifice rock élaboré par Offenbach à partir de 1972, il témoigne toutefois de la puissance impérissable de ce groupe phare du rock \"viril\" et pesant. --Diane Jean\n\nProduct Description\n\nOffenbach; Largely considered the biggest, most popular and first Quebecois Rock n Roll band was formed in 1970 and went on to record 18 albums during their carreer from 1970-1985. Credited as being the first group to compose and record original blues and rock songs in the French language, this group achieved iconic status when they where the first band from Quebec to 'Headline' at the Montreal Forum in 1980. With multiple Gold records and critical acclaim the group regularly toured in France, Switzerland and Germany until it's demise in 1985. Lead vocalist Gerry Boulet went on to pursue a solo carreer and later died of cancer in 1990. Due to public demand the group re-formed in 1992 toured for a few years and recorded an acoustic disc called 'Nature' with Martin Deschamps filling in for the late Gerry Boulet.
