In Madame Butlerfly: Timeless Legends, she puts a decidedly modern spin on songs that are decades or even centuries old, with Catherine Lara and Thierry Eliez (Deep Forest) arranging and producing. However, under the many layers of synthesizers and drum machines that invariably recall Lara's Aral project, we realize that Edith Butler has remained essentially the same and that this musical turning point, halfway between new age and electro -pop, is not negotiated very well. The boiling Acadian seems to be suffocating under the mass of electronic sounds bathed in an annoying reverberation, in this mishmash of world music where pieces like \"À la claire fontaine\", \"L'Enfant au tambour\" and \"Wing tra la\".
