His mix is an energetic blend of choppy trance or smooth house, depending on your definitions, but one thing is clear--this man has good taste and a frightening focus on dance-floor flow. Playing with the rise-and-fall dreamscape of trance, Howells works with a house music aesthetic in that he starts in hard with a beat and never really drops it out of the mix, especially on the first disc.
