Details: Product Description Thirteen-year-old Quebecois pianist Daniel Clarke Bouchard presents his first solo CD for ATMA Classique and is already well known on the Montréal music scene. On «Scènes d’enfants», Daniel Clarke Bouchard performs a personal selection of works by Mendelssohn, Schubert, and Beethoven. The recording includes an improvisation on Mozart’s Piano Variations on «Ah vous dirai-je, Maman,» played on two pianos by Bouchard and his mentor, the famed jazz pianist Oliver Jones. «Scènes d’enfants» topped the Canadian classical charts for several weeks in 2014. About the Artist Daniel Clarke Bouchard was five years old when he started playing the piano, and gave his first recital at age six. He won the grand prize at McGill University’s Joy of Music Festival for three consecutive years. In 2012, Daniel performed at Carnegie Hall as the first prize winner of the Bradshaw and Buono International Piano Competition. He was also first prize winner in his age category at the 2011 Canadian Music Competition, and has received scholarships from Yamaha, Canimex, and Gilles Chatel. Daniel has appeared with the Orchestre Métropolitain at the Montréal en Lumière festival in 2013, and again last November under the baton of superstar conductor, Yannick Nézet-Séguin. He currently studies piano at the Conservatoire de Musique de Montréal.
