4488 de l’Amour is a new – yet unsurprising – energy, rawer, less rosy, more burning, less contained, more woman, less girl, but still as sassy and uninhibited as on the Boulay sisters' old songs. There’s drums and electric guitar. It takes up space, but not as much as the harmonized voices and acoustic strings, and not enough to make your ears curl too much.

4488 de l’Amour is an album that doesn’t take itself too seriously, constantly changing outfits, fully embracing its madness and bipolar nature, oscillating between melancholic folk song and the bittersweet pop of these two girls, sometimes comical, sometimes whiny, often in love with boys and not too happy about it.

Delicate, flowery, exotic, but also more fiery and self-assured, more agile and dense than Le poids des confettis (2013), the album, once again enhanced by Philippe B, is its logical continuation. It speaks of homes, those we have, those we seek, and those that no longer exist, but also of the people who inhabit them. It speaks of distance, of journeys too long, of friendships, of idealistic love and disappointed love. It's not more mature, but it's more honest. It's not more serious, but it's more lucid. And it's like a little refuge where it's very sweet to live.
