Details: Copper , a gripping crime series set in 1860s New York City, centers on Kevin Corcoran (Tom Weston-Jones), an intense, rugged Irish-American detective working the city’s notorious Five Points neighborhood. Corcoran struggles to maintain his moral compass in a turbulent world while dealing with the horrible truth about what happened to his wife and daughter, as well as, his best friend’s betrayal. As he attempts to rebuild his life, the others strive to find their place in the American saga, be it for good or evil. Copper premiered in 2012 on BBC AMERICA, and was the network’s first original scripted drama series. It was also the highest rated series premiere ever on BBC AMERICA when it launched. Copper was created by Tom Fontana (OZ, Homicide: Life on the Street, St. Elsewhere) and Will Rokos (Monster’s Ball, Southland), and among the co-executive producers on the series were Fontana, Rokos, Barry Levinson (Good Morning, Vietnam, Rain Man, You Don’t Know Jack) and Christina Wayne (Broken Trail and executive in charge of Mad Men at AMC). The series also aired in Canada on Showcase.
