Details: Product Description Respectables Amazon.ca Les Respectables spent nearly a decade searching for the recipe for success, visiting every nook and cranny of Quebec, Toronto, and New York in vain. They finally found it with $=Bonheur, an album where, for the first time, the quartet decided to sing in French and blend their rock with pop and hot rhythms. The catchy "Amalgame" was an instant hit with its South American flair, as were the upbeat "Holà décadence" and the reggae-infused "L'Homme 7:00 up." The success was such that more than two-thirds of the songs made it onto the charts, including the bonus track "Cambre tes hanches." However, $=Bonheur is not flawless: the production is rudimentary, the mixing is questionable, and several tracks lack the energy of a live performance. Yet, thanks to their vast experience, the group manages to make one forget these weaknesses, particularly Sébastien Plante, who displays great ease on vocals, and Pascal Dufour, who is effective on guitar. Don't be put off by the hideous album cover: $=Bonheur is one of the good albums of Quebec pop rock. --Nicolas Houle
