RICHARD Z SIROIS / The Vinyl of the Insomniac - BOOK
The pretext: music.
The Author: A guy who has been entertaining, informing,… “educating” us for decades.
The book: an unusual life told to the sound of fifty years of rock.
From Rock et Belles Oreilles to 100 Limite via Les Midis Fous to CKOI, Richard Z. Sirois rewatches the film of a formidable career, but also of his loves, his first French, memorable moments with his children or his friends, his good and his (many) bad tricks, spicing them up with tasty musical parentheses. He managed the feat of transforming the little story of his life into a tribute to rock from here and elsewhere. His rock anecdotes strike both humor and nostalgia.
Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Janis Joplin, Supertramp, Pink Floyd, David Bowie, Harmonium, Paul Piché, Vilain Pengouin… Do you have memories related to songs, records, artists? Do you remember, too? You're going to love this book like no other.
Born in Matane, Richard Z. Sirois has always eaten rock. Now at the helm of the program Les vinyles de A à Z on the Arsenal Media network, Richard Z. has been doing radio, television and shows since 1981; he's seen hundreds of shows and met tons of artists from all over the world. Founding member of Rock et Belles Oreilles, 100 Limite and Bleu Poudre, he is also the father of three children, has experienced several separations, traveled, participated in parties that degenerated and consumed all kinds of substances. In the background of all that, there was always the music.
