Details: Matthew Barber was born in Toronto in '77. He honed his songwriting and live show while he attended graduate school in Hamilton, Ontario. In 2002, Matthew released his critically acclaimed indie-debut “Means And Ends”. It boasted disarmingly honest lyrics with meandering melodies fueled by one part swagger, one part sway in the tradition of Neil Young, Elvis Costello, and more recently artists like Jeff Buckley and Brendan Benson. Matthew's live resume features plays with the likes of Ben Lee, Destroyer, Brendan Benson, and Sarah Slean.
