“Grandeur mature” shows us Émile, still at the forefront alongside his peers: the youth who have something to say. The singer-songwriter is no longer apologizing. He no longer enters through the wings, instead splitting the curtain down the center of the stage to say things as they are. Every subject is put to the test: homophobia, sexism, racism, Islamophobia, family—the one that is there when everything else falls apart around you, the language we let wither and break, the profound exhaustion that sets in when we’ve tried too hard, the eco-anxiety that blends into the DNA of the new generation like a disease that is too late to tackle.

Mentor and collaborator Philippe B returns at the helm of production; the one who realigns Émile Bilodeau’s fireworks of ideas. Ghyslain Luc Lavigne (sound recording and mixing) and Marc Thériault (mastering) round out the recording team, which took place at The Treatment Room studio. The cover art is a Wedge creation.
