Details: Product Description Jean Leloup Amazon.ca With this landmark album, his second, Jean Leloup finally shows his teeth and offers us a perfectly digestible, terrifically turbulent rock record. With a series of explosive tracks, L’amour est sans pitié captures the malaise of a generation fed on the ephemeral and extreme experiences. For proof, one must listen to the title track, as well as "Cookie" and "Nathalie," lucid and pathos-free descriptions of aimless days and nights of excess. "1990," an essential anthem with a hellish pace, encapsulates the throes of the end of a decade; the memorable "Isabelle," "Barcelone," and "Rock’n’Roll et Pauvreté" ruminate on awkward loves and the wanderings of a lost soul. The music of Leloup and his band, La Sale Affaire, dominated by the guitars of Yves Desrosiers (Lhasa de Sela, Mara Tremblay) and Alex Cochard, forms a wall of sound that overcomes the strongest resistance and makes you dance without mercy. A joyfully desperate record. -- Diane Jean
