For the occasion, Serge Fiori and his band brought in a host of distinguished guests (Richard Séguin and Pierre Bertrand, among others) and a symphony orchestra conducted by Neil Chotem. The result: a memorable double album bringing together, as its title indicates, seven songs totaling 85 minutes of music. Entirely refreshed through digital transfer, the tracks on L'Heptade have lost none of their flavor. They feature the complex rhythms of "Comme un fou," the pitch-perfect voice of Monique Fauteux in "Le Corridor," and the now-classic "Comme un sage." The only downside: the poor sound quality of the orchestral interludes. Nevertheless, L'Heptade remains an essential part of Quebec music. -- Nicolas Houle Also find the live version of L'Heptade, recorded in Vancouver in 1977, on the double album simply titled Harmonium en tournée.
