Details: Amazon.ca The idea seems elementary, but you still had to think about it: a series retracing the itinerary of Clark Kent before he became Superman, the gradual taming of his powers, could only meet with success . Musically speaking, staying in line with John Williams, whose imprint is indelible, would have been a triple mistake. First, the TV format did not lend itself to it (the Lois & Clark series demonstrated this); next, the comparison would have been too heavy to bear; finally, the actual content of Smallville, an ordinary teenager with extraordinary powers, did not call for any kind of orchestral opulence. The time is not yet for fantastic exploits but for learning, and the producers have hit the mark by betting on an essentially pop-rock soundtrack, familiar to the ears of the public and faithful to the journey of the hero in the making. Thus the target audience can naturally identify with the characters and be passionate about their adventures. The theme of the credits constitutes in this an ideal engine, by its capacity to immerse us in a few seconds in the very particular atmosphere of the series. The Smallville album thus becomes more than a simple extension, it perfectly condenses its musical content and allows us to dive even further into this already cult series. Excerpts from the original music would have been welcome, but the long version of "Save Me" by Remy Zero, famous titles by Weezer or Lifehouse are enough to delight music lovers, fans of Smallville or not. A beautiful musical renewal of the Superman myth. --Alexis Morain Product description Original Soundtrack ~ Smallville: Music from the Talon
