Details: Product Description Jean-Pierre Ferland Amazon.ca If it is true that Love is work, nothing is easier on the other hand than to love Jean-Pierre Ferland, who once again proves to be an original lyricist here. After the success of the album Listen to this (1995), which rallied critics and all audiences, Ferland, vulnerable and rebellious, persists in giving us songs that stay away from commonplace and easy. Opening with a moving prayer to love ("Les Beaux Grands Bleus d'automne"), the disc ends with a "Jam at the end of an album" with the three accomplices to whom we owe the music and arrangements of all the songs (except "I'm always afraid of losing you", by U. Fasano): Richard Bélanger (also the director of the album), Bobby Cohen and Alain Leblanc, whose limpid guitars and sensual throughout the disc. From the astonishing "I love a man" (for his producer and friend, Robert Vinet), to "La Fana" (a tribute to his mother), Ferland speaks the language of authenticity. And the emotion with which he gives himself (especially in the superb "On oublie qu'on oublie" and "Le Plus Beau Slow") proves, more than 30 years after the publication of the album Jaune (1970), that he always has his heart in the work… and in love. --Julie Sergent
