Details: Product Description Dumas Amazon.ca Le Cours des jours confirms what Dumas' first album hinted at: this young singer-songwriter is one of the most promising voices in new Quebec music. Like Yann Perreau or Ariane Moffatt, he decided to do as he pleased. The result is a melodic album where he affirms, even more than in the previous one, a mature and singular musical personality. Directed by Carl Bastien, project manager of Rêver mieux, by Daniel Bélanger, with whom we recognize a distant relationship in style, Le Cours des jours takes the listener on a hovering journey to the heart of the inner world of the artist of 23 years. The aerial melodies are carried by well chiseled chords of acoustic guitar on a background of psychedelic keyboards and haunting rhythms. Dumas has refined his musical style, but, as a lover of words and rhymes, he continues his search for a simple poetry capable of translating his slightly melancholy universe. Her voice, sometimes almost slender, sometimes more sensual, sings of loneliness (“Vénus”) and rupture (“Linoléum”), of desire (“Le Désir comme tel”, by Jérôme Minière, “Vision pornographique”) and the love (“Arizona”). To be enjoyed slowly and for a long time. --Pascale Millot
