Details: Product Description Piche, Paul Amazon.ca One sings its inner chiaroscuros. The other looks festive. The acoustic guitar slung over the shoulder and the hushed voice, One and the Other cry, swing, share in turn their loves, their disappointed hopes, their anxieties and their revolts. This double box brings together the successes of Paul Piché, since his marked beginnings, in 1977, by a first album certified platinum, Who owns the good weather? From the first track to the 28th, the singer-songwriter remains the same honest and committed artist. From the traditional "tunes" that make you tap your feet ("There's not much in the sky tonight", "Mon Jœ") to sovereigntist songs ("Chu not badly gone", "That's what we want "), the tone is resolutely Quebecois. But his simple and frank poetry ("Car je t'aime", "Mon Cousin Jacques"), punctuated among others by the compositions of Pierre Bertrand and the electric guitar of Rick Haworth, is undoubtedly universal. "That we are nothing without love / To help the world must know how to be loved", thinks aloud the singer in "L'Escalier", recorded in front of an audience with the Orchester symphonique de Montréal. The few live songs that appear on the album prove the enthusiasm of the followers of Piché. Both will delight them equally. --Marie-Eve Cousineau
