A tradition from across the Atlantic dictates that during the holiday season, every international music star releases their own "Christmas album." Roch Voisine complies with this custom by paying tribute to those popular songs that, as children, we sang in chorus while waiting for the long-awaited moment to open the gifts left at the foot of the tree. The Christmas album brings together fourteen of these beautiful compositions. From a stripped-back interpretation of Tino Rossi's famous "Petit Papa Noël" to "Mon Beau Sapin," "Marie-Noël," and Nana Mouskouri's iconic "L'Enfant au Tambour," Roch Voisine's light, almost adolescent voice handles the exercise with tenderness. We thus discover the artist in the realm of the gentle ballad which, as we knew, suits him quite well. And by reconnecting with his inner child, Roch Voisine invites us to do the same.
