Details: In Montreal, we already know Jimmy Hunt once for his legendary performances as a one-man band, which some lonely souls still remember, and since then, some additional Love illnesses. This same Jimmy Hunt, who in 2006 surrounded himself with members of Demon's Claws and the Cockroaches, formed the group Chocolat and released a first EP on the Navet Confit label, Dry & Dead. The mix of garage with psyché yéyé sauce seduces Radio-Canada, but also the magazine MOJO, The Gazette, Exclaim!, Longue d'Ondes and the crowds of NXNE, FrancoFolies, FME, GAMIQ and M for Montreal. Since then, everyone agrees that Chocolate is indeed better than sex, a subject which is also portrayed very vividly on the EP. With the release of “Elegant Piano” in 2008 on the Big Box label, Chocolat finds its niche, which he describes as “elegant rock” and writes about many aspects of life that charm bad girls and naughty boys alike. “In the EP, there were twisted relationships with the opposite sex or love, but this one is more peaceful. It's less nasty, but there's still a worrying second degree,” says Jimmy Hunt. The title of this first album represents the content quite well: sophisticated arrangements, but which keep their garage heritage not too far away, always this magnificent voice to which we no longer owe presentations, all supported by drums that have soul . Huge critical success and sometimes dubious peregrinations ensue, so much so that at some point, we lose track of the wandering group. Rumor has it that in the fall of 2014, Chocolat is reincarnated, joins a certain Emmanuel Ethier, makes anyone who wants to listen say TSS TSS and goes for a walk again.
