Details: Product Description La Chicane Amazon.ca With En catimini, the Quebec group La Chicane presents a debut album with diverse musical influences, ranging from rock to country and even including Latin music. Delivered by the warm, raspy voice of singer Boom Desjardins and a team of competent musicians, the songs on En catimini stand out more thanks to their formidably effective choruses than their lyrics, the grammar of which is often lacking ("Dans mes erreurs les plus pires"). An innate sense of melody, catchy hooks, the use of joual, and typically Quebecois themes (working in the North Shore mines, for example) allow this group to reach a vast audience, as evidenced by its commercial success. En catimini is an imperfect album, but it features solid songs such as "Calvaire", "Le Fil", and "Juste pour voir le monde". -- Nicolas Houle
