Putting the cart before the horse has its roots in the basic elements of American folklore and testifies as much to the mastery of these as to a great freedom. Fueled by bluegrass and swing, it acts as a short journey between tradition and modernity that will delight thugs and yodel enthusiasts alike.

For her first official EP, Margaret Tracteur surrounds herself with a constellation of top-notch accomplices. In addition to the group formed by Danny Roach on double bass and Claude Amar on violin, we find with great pleasure the talented Lucas Choi Zimbel (Street Meat) on guitar as well as Kevin Moquin (Bad Uncle) on dobro. Recording, mixing and production are handled by Pi Cutler (The Steady Swagger, The Royal Pickles, The Unsettlers), and the vinyl version of the six-piece EP also includes three remixed tracks taken from the first self-produced mini-album.

The EP Put the cart in front of the oxen , as the title suggests, does not claim to be an opus with meticulously calculated arrangements, but rather a spontaneous manifestation of the creativity of the musicians involved, juxtaposed with ideas a bit unpredictable by Gabrielle Bégin .
