By patching together radio excerpts, Akufen has produced a playful house album where hatched voices and truncated guitar chords rub shoulders, the result of a chiseling of great virtuosity without being arid. Indeed, Leclair mixes the surgical precision of German DJs with the jovial groove of the United States, giving the whole thing a very Montreal side, at the junction of Europe and America.
