The introspective texts of Rising Sun, in English, sometimes dark, sometimes funny, invite the listener to discover the universe of Gilles Sioui who shares with us the ups and downs of his life and bears witness to his Amerindian roots. His minimalist and lyrical guitar playing sometimes evokes Albert Collins, while his voice and acoustic arrangements betray his admiration for Neil Young.
