Details: Samito is a Mozambican/Canadian singer and songwriter. Revelation Radio-Canada 2015-16 in world music, Samito combines secular melodies with more rock grooves on highly rhythmic compositions and texts inspired by his African roots and his childhood, spent in Maputo. It's nostalgia meets political satire, with heavy beats and lyrics written in Portuguese, English, French and Tswa. With his very first album, scheduled for Spring 2016 on the Costume Records label, the artist seeks to bring groove into a new era, an era where modern Afro sounds are at the heart of musical trends. After its launch-show on May 25 at the Ritz PDB in Montreal, Samito will travel the roads of Quebec in the summer of 2016 with a tour of nearly 30 dates.
