Details: The idea of ​​offering you this Little Christmas is not fortuitous and is a natural extension of the special program that I host live, on Christmas Eve, on the airwaves of Espace Musique and of Radio-Canada's Première Chaîne, alongside my career as a concert pianist. Indeed, for eight years now, I have been sharing December 24 at the microphone and at the piano with all those who find themselves reunited in solitude or gathering, in euphoria or nostalgia, in order to live together these few hours before the coup. midnight, in a cozy and festive atmosphere, that of possible happiness, listening to the most beautiful melodies of the Holiday season. It is with great pleasure that I found on the occasion of this recording, the violinist Philippe Dunnigan with whom I had collaborated on the project of Montreal Jazz Club Session 3, who immediately agreed to join me with his Quartet, in order to concoct this intimate Little Christmas for you, recorded in the tranquility of the Saint-Benoît Church in Mirabel. I also called on Richard Savignac again for the arrangement of the pieces, which was noted by critics for the arrangements of some of my compositions which were performed by the Pacific Symphony Orchestra at the Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall in California and by the Orchester Symphonique de Montréal at Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier at Place des Arts .Petit Noël is also the title of one of the pieces that I composed and that you will find here with two new compositions, Noël en traineau and Première neige à Kamouraska. Some “classics” complete the musical selection, as well as the piece Un Canadien errant. The latter is in memory of my father-in-law and great friend, Louis Martineau, who was particularly fond of him and who, to my great sadness, passed away on the morning of December 24th... It is also addressed to all lonely souls for whom this time of year is synonymous with hardship, as well as all those who are held up abroad, cannot join family, friends and loved ones for the holiday celebrations.The idea of ​​offering you this Little Christmas is not fortuitous.
