Details: Augustin Marleau is an actor with an incredible talent... for making himself hated. In his previous adventure, L'Assassin jouait du trombone, he nearly served as a scapegoat for a dangerous criminal and a police inspector who was as ambitious as he was narrow-minded. Now that he finally thinks he is returning to a normal life, Marleau's eternal enemies are back on the offensive. First, the police inspector, a man named Giuseppe Grasselli, insists on making him the culprit in an enigmatic kidnapping case. Then, Elkin, an aesthete fencer, secretly broods over his revenge against him. This forces Augustin Marleau to cause one misfortune after another, stumbling from one blunder to the next. Until chance provides him with the solution to the mystery. But even then, Marleau will have to pay the price, because for him, nothing is ever simple.
