Journal d'un coopérant is the first Quebec (and perhaps world) film that could be described as a participatory experience with Internet users. It is in any case an astonishing cross between fiction cinema and internet newspaper. First filmed in Burundi this summer, Diary of a cooperant was then shown on the internet in the form of capsules. So bloggers were invited to submit comments and suggestions to the director, potentially altering the course of events in the film. There is nothing really surprising about this innovative approach when you consider the particularly extraordinary filmography of Robert Morin, a director resolutely at the forefront of Quebec cinema.
