A little higher, a little further 20. The quest Ginette Reno is about to launch her first career DVD which will immortalize her recent concert at the Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré basilica. Live recorded product is expected in early November. “For me, this DVD is important, because this show represents a great moment in my life. Imagine: singing in a basilica and enjoying all that spiritual energy. It was truly magical! I think about it and it still gives me chills,” she said in an exclusive interview with the Journal de Québec. Ginette Reno offered two performances, on August 24 and 25, at the Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré basilica, at the invitation of La grande fête de la Côte-de-Beaupré. The DVD will broadcast the second performance in its entirety. “There will no doubt be little extras; we look at that… ”explains the singer who produces it herself. The diva is supported by a formation of 25 musicians and by the 40 singers of the Arcensons ensemble. She even mixed religious tunes, such as Ave Maria and The prayer, with her successes like L'essentiel, even delivering without a microphone Je ne suis qu'une chanson and Un peu plus haut, with this vocal power that aroused the chills in the basilica. Curiously, the one who celebrates her 54-year career is about to launch her very first DVD. “If I've never done it in the past, it's quite simply because I prefer people to come and see me perform...” At 67, Ginette Reno is still very active. This year, she is taking her show Chanter pour toi ce soir to the four corners of Quebec for a total of 68 performances. At the end of the week, she will be in Abitibi.
