Details: Product Description 'Pour Madame X' is Aurther H's newsest studio album since the successful 'Trouble Fete' in 1996. This album, composed in a 'cabaret's style'. will seduce all the ones who haven't discovered yet his magical & musical & musical universe. Amazon.ca Groping double bass and teasing cymbals raise the curtain on a lascivious and singular “Mystic Rhumba”: the tone of For Madame X is given. Arthur H is more inspired than ever on this fourth studio album, surrounded by longtime friends (Brad Scott on double bass, Nicolas Repac on guitar) and new accomplices from the Orchester de la lune (brass and percussion). The voice is still broken, but seems soothed. The accompaniments, alternately hushed or joyfully intoxicating, flow from source to serve an astonishing, absurd and penetrating poetry. Where does this apparent maturity come from? Perhaps he finally found in “Madame X” the “ideal woman” hoped for since Trouble-Fête, his previous album. Is she the digital voice encountered on the quasi-disco "www.com" and which promises her coitus full screen? Or even the burning Lhasa de Sela who accompanies her on a sensual “Indiana Lullaby”? Arthur H is however far from being converted to romanticism and we find with pieces like “Haka Dada”, haunting jazz with rap accents, his predilection for surrealist delirium. Spiritual little brother of Tom Waits, experimental jazzman without claiming to be avant-garde, poet with an expression as touching as Dadaist, Arthur H transports us once again, with Pour Madame X, into his rich and detached musical universe. --Nathalie Farage
