Details: Product Description Vallieres, Vincent Amazon.ca Everyday poetry, an ode to headlong rush and great hopes, Vincent Vallières' second album smacks of authenticity. Seasoned with electric guitars, Bordel ambient was finely produced by Éric Goulet, leader of the group Les Chiens – his influence is particularly felt in "Rain of stars". More mature than during his first try, the singer from the Eastern Townships offers a rock lo-fi sometimes fortunately inspired, as on the haunting and dark "Linge sale", the very catchy "Plate" or the catchy and funny "Les Grandes Questions". The style, which betrays a certain kinship with Fred Fortin, hesitates between a good-natured simplicity and a more sophisticated musical spectrum. Vallières remains, after all, a gifted guitarist. Accompanied by Michel-Olivier Gasse on bass and Claude Lacroix on drums, he signs songs which, without unnecessary artifice, reveal a youthful and tormented universe. The young man is on the right track. -- Diana John
