Details: Product Description Other Shores is Bruno Pelletier's fourth album. This new release succeeds Miserere (1997) which exceeded 225,000 copies sold in Canada alone and obtained a double platinum certification. Other Shores was conceived in Montreal and Paris and produced by Serge Perathoner, Jannick Top and Bruno Pelletier. Among the authors and composers who collaborated in the creation of the pieces, we find the names of Luc Plamondon, Richard Cocciante, Roger Tabra, Daniel Lavoie, Dan Bigras and Richard Séguin. Amazon.ca D'autre rives presents a Bruno Pelletier at the peak of his vocal form. Recorded partly in France, partly in Montreal, his fourth album appeared while the performer enjoyed great success in France. There are also some music by Richard Cocciante, the composer of the show Notre-Dame de Paris, in which the singer triumphed. The powerful voice of Pelletier is well highlighted, sometimes enveloped in a placid rock, sometimes raised by softer melodies. Richard Séguin signs the tender “Se rêver”, where the piano delicately accompanies Pelletier and the chorister Kim Richardson. The lyricist Roger Tabra (who also writes for Luce Dufault and Éric Lapointe) has once again teamed up with Dan Bigras to sign the song “I tried”, which gives pride of place to the bandoneon of the virtuoso Romulo Larrea. The bagpipes in “The Good Guy and the Bastard” is another pleasant discovery. D'autre rives represents a beautiful setting for a voice that impresses, without however upsetting. --Diane John
