Details: Amazon.ca With Ent' nous autres, his third album, La Chicane arrives where we no longer expected it. The days of cooking poetry and stylistic catch-alls are over: exiled to the outskirts of Montreal to record in a restaurant transformed into a studio, the troupe from Abitibi took the time to develop their ideas well, to take care of their texts and polishing his scores. Without renouncing the melodic folk rock and the populist anthems that it has always favored, the group invests the territories of pop, rock and country by showing greater unity. Incidentally, each of the members is entitled to their little moment of glory: Boom Desjardins proves to be an inspired and nuanced performer, Christian Legault, who sings "Faut crois que j'aime ça", knows how to find beautiful guitar ornamentations, while that Éric Lemieux, who is also trying his hand at singing, always strums in good taste. It is therefore in full possession of its means that La Chicane approaches the theme of suicide in "L'Étoile du nord", that it pays tribute to "Steven", a boy victim of cancer and appropriates "Dix Heures evening", by Richard Desjardins.
