Details: Amazon.ca The real Antwone Fisher, by signing a screenplay about his own life, certainly knew how to find the words to reach the heart of Denzel Washington. For the occasion, the Oscar-winning actor decided to take his first steps behind the camera. The result is in his image: moving, full of hope and humanism. Born in prison, abandoned by his mother, raised by a stepmother, beaten, raped, Antwone Fisher (Derek Luke) really hasn't had it easy. Now a member of the Marine Corps, he suffers from serious temper tantrums that force him to consult a psychologist (Denzel Washington). The relationship between the two men will quickly go beyond the professional framework. Denzel Washington is a decidedly good man. And it shows in his film. Because while the psychoanalyst of Good Will Hunting had to bare his fangs to win the respect of his brilliant patient, that of Antwone Fisher is like a kind of spiritual guru, who will show him the "right" way to rediscover his roots and showcase his talent. Of course, so many good feelings sometimes irritate, but beautiful ideas of realization, solid flash-backs evoking the sordid childhood of the young man and a completely convincing interpretation prevent Antwone Fisher from sinking into the most total sentimentality. --Helen Faradji
