Details: As war rages in Europe, five young Berliners, lifelong friends, prepare for war. There are Wilhelm and Friedhelm, two brothers with diametrically opposed ideas. There is the beautiful Greta, a singer who dreams of being the new Marlene Dietrich. She is in love with Viktor, but their love must be kept secret. Sweet Charlotte, who is in love with Wilhelm, hopes to see him back at the front thanks to his commitment as a nurse. Finally, there is Viktor, Greta's secret lover. He is Jewish and, although his friends do not care, Viktor understands that it will be more and more dangerous for him to live in Berlin. The Gestapo is about to start rounding up, and he could soon be arrested. The five friends are all naive and carefree, and convinced that the war will only last a few months. But fate has decided otherwise and they see their lives turned upside down by the horrors they witness. Will they be able to regain the humanity and innocence of their youth? The experience of war will bring out the best in them, but also the worst.
