Details: Amazon.ca In the middle of making their second album, hip hop group Loco Locass was approached by the Freeset company for a multimedia project. This is how In Vivo was born: a sort of conceptual mini-album mixing reality with fiction and betting on the independentist opinions of the members of the group. In essence: in 2002, the radical Canadian Mounted Police infiltrated the ranks of the group. She clones the three rappers to make a federalist band that promotes Canadian unity, as evidenced by the English song “ROC rap”. By inserting the CD into your computer's drive (PC only, Mac users refrain), you access the In Vivo folder, you can consult the files of the three rappers, explore their memory and see videos of their shows or their daily life. An interactive clip, “Le Grand Rio”, is also included: a tribute to the late Riopelle, it allows the user to manipulate the soundtracks. In all, the CD features half a dozen new compositions – including one that quite scratches Mario Dumont – and offers about two hours of audiovisual material. Very well done and putting forward a neat aesthetic, this curious release will invariably entertain fans. --Nicolas Houle
