Attaboy we die! is an anthology on double vinyl disc including the two cassettes, Attaboy we suffer (1984) and Attaboy we agonise (1985) and completed with nine previously unreleased songs. This is where things stop being normal. The Bâtis Biberons are only one man. They never did a concert. Once the disc is launched, it's a parade of post-punk hallucinations that cross your brain for the next hour.
A true man-orchestra in a straitjacket, Satan Bélanger presents us with post-surf-garage nuggets, mixing telephone conversations with imaginary friends and tormented feelings. Through the Suicide-esque fuzz and din of songs like “Action,” there are also gems like “La santé,” which may have been written by Amen Dunes with a sore throat, noise rock sketches packed with musical references. and the search for happiness through Quebec Nordiques hockey. The Biberons accept their madness; it is inevitable. What remains is a body of work that transcends punk humor and nihilism, and doesn't give a damn about it.
