While everyone thought they were dead or reduced to playing the balafon in Miami retirement homes to survive, the Ludwig Von 88, after 14 years of absence, gave in to colossal pressure from their adorers who threatened them not to listen to more than André Rieu if they did not immediately release a 16-track album sold in all record stores in deep China. Neither one nor two, here they are, fresh as Maos out of their fridge, back on the front of the international scene: concerts, conferences, films, happenings, poetry reading, debate on grouper fishing, march against the intolerance, topless parade in the streets of Kabul, participation as Aziz in Loft Story, organic picnic in hemp shorts in support of José Bové and Jean-Pierre Galand (president!) and above all, as a conclusion and history of immortalizing the event, the realization of the 16 titles claimed loudly by all.

Long and full of pitfalls was the road that led the Ludwigs to the release of this new record. Recorded in the Xiang-Kiang desert without authorization from the Chinese Communist Party (but with a good generator and a few camels), the project was close to falling through, despite the absence source less than 357 km away. Indeed, the recordings having been made on an extra-plus Marxism-Maoism PC microcomputer (clocked at 1917 MHz), the files not being compatible with the Colonel Fabien version PCs used in France, they were censored at their back to Paris. It was therefore necessary to make a new recording in makeshift conditions, hence the rather 70's sound and, ultimately, much more "hype". With this preposterous pirouette, the group was able to mix the tapes, which, once is not custom, were lost. A new recording was made, this time at Studio Karma, which by its ideally placed geographical location (Maine-et-Loire) and the good vibes that hover there quite frequently, happened to be the coolest place of the 4 -9 to hit the beef between keupons destroy. Thus was born the album which was to smash the century in a radical way, with a little delay, however, which explains why and how the postcards went on sale two years too early (July 1998), a major marketing operation. scale that almost sank the label (which recovered, however, thanks to the sales of its monthly fair).

The disc, to date the best of Ludwig and the others together, and fingers in the zen, contains the 16 biggest hits and therefore potential sales in the entire history of the recording industry. The profit forecasts for the year 2001 having been revised upwards by the stock market quotation company Flouzedu Et Frères for the current financial year, the group decided to lay off workers, in order to meet the expectations of the shareholders. The guitarist was therefore fired and ordered to go and do his antics elsewhere. Before leaving, he took revenge by including in the song "77" (a hymn to dog punks), the longest solo in the history of the group (1'35) when it was a punk track and all journalists know that there is never a guitar solo in a punk track! It's smart. We look fine! " The revolution is not a gala dinner ", because it is the title of this fabulous album, inspired by a reflection that the Grand Helmsman had after having landed in the McDonald's in Beijing, is in the extreme line of the Post-French Touch school crossed with a tear of Acid Reggae, a real auditory slaughter. There is of course all the mythology and the strong themes that the Ludwigs love (beer, girls and football).

A monument! A groundswell! A storm of emotion and subtlety. A GREAT DISC! The only one who can still make Mao laugh and sing in his freezer, the only one who can make Jean-Paul II and Rika Zaraï pogo in the same pot of begonia, the only one who can be chronicled at the same time in Les Inrockuptibles, Rock' n'Folk and Spliff Gadget (10 Francs on sale throughout the month of Joint).

An amazing marketing plan for this new version in double album forged in vinyl: Parade in Tianan Men Square + long walk from Shanghai to Paris + Parade of flowered floats "A hundred flowers for the party" + International athletics meeting "the great leap forward" + Organized trip to Tibet (with lama shooting ranges) + Nautical trip to Taiwan.

16 titles (including a real tube) not recommended by the Medef, the university of Assas, Donald Trump and the Boulogne tribune.
