How to create the worthy successor to Pigeon d'argile, a successful line that sold more than 350,000 copies? We can not say that the folk-rock singer failed in the task, but he did not know how to recreate the magic in Grand Parleur, Petit Faiseur If the production is meticulous, the cover, superb and the team of musicians, formidable , the songs suffer from several shortcomings. It is on the side of the texts that the Gaspé artist disappoints the most. Obsessed with his navel, he doesn't do subtle things to recount his excesses of debauchery ("Fréquenter l'oubli"), his emotional problems ("Maudite Jalousie") or psychological ("Psychologist"). Only the ironic "You will be able to say" stands out, taking a lucid and funny look at the world of show business. Parent fortunately manages to counterbalance these weaknesses thanks to the effectiveness of his music: the performance is accurate, the arrangements are impeccable and the melodies prove to be solid enough to carry rather nondescript refrains.
