Details: An emerging duo from the Quebec rock/stoner/grunge scene, Oktoplut made their debut in 2012 by releasing their first 3-song EP. The group has been in existence for a short time but the two members have a good musical background, having been part of several formations in the past. Mathieu ''Mathias'' Forcier on guitar (also a member of the band Prevenge which has toured the world) and Laurence ''Larry'' Fréchette on drums in Oktoplut, but a multi-task musician in several other bands, including Nuance Noire, group sold by the Coup de coeur francophone festival in 2012. Oktoplut stands out for the amount of decibels generated on stage and the fact that the group's drummer is also the lead singer. Despite the influence of English-speaking North American groups such as Solids, Metz, Torch and Nirvana, the guys compose in French. Contrary to what the name of the band, which is taken from the French translation of the James Bond film ''Octopussy'', may suggest, Oktoplut offers us songs with deep and thoughtful lyrics. The guys will enter the studio in mid-February to give us a first album for May 2014.
