Details: Product Description Hughes, Lulu Amazon.ca By dint of hard work, appearances on small and big stages, lit interpretations of the rock repertoire, Lulu Hughes has acquired fans who have long awaited her first album. Here it is finally, solid and sincere, the whole portrait of the blonde singer. The former interpreter of Marie-Jeanne in the French edition of Starmania signs the texts here, most of them in French, and collaborates on the music. The album begins ferociously with a cry from the artist, hoarse, powerful, triumphant; his force of conviction is irresistible in plays like "Le Doigt bien droit". If a well assumed rock, coupled with a funk of hell, crosses the album, the lady also knows how to be tender with the very sweet "Salvation". Renowned musicians also surround him, notably Dan Georgesco (Too Many Cooks) on guitar and Maurice "Soso" Williams (Dan Bigras, Bori) on bass. Lulu Hughes has not succumbed, like so many other talented singers, to the temptation to let herself be taken over by an industry that swallows personality. She imposes her style with passion and a good dose of soul. Lucky for us. --Diane John
