Details: Amazon.ca This disc is the last released during Elvis Presley's lifetime, in July 1977, before he probably died of a barbiturate overdose on August 16 precisely. It follows a long series of concerts where the public, curious and eager to contemplate his decline since his divorce from Priscilla, rushes to applaud the decline of the one he had made king. After this period which runs from 1973 to 1976, marked among others by Aloha From Hawaii Via Satellite, Elvis Recorded Live On Stage In Memphis and Having Fun With Elvis On Stage, Presley returns to Graceland where he invites his musicians to the accompany and register on site. Two superb records will come out of these sessions, From Elvis Presley Boulevard Memphis, Tenessee, featuring "Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain" (it seems one of the very last songs he would have sung before dying) and Moody Blue, from which emerges the title song which will sell more than two million copies in the weeks following his tragic disappearance experienced as a national mourning. This is the album where America mourns one of its heroes, one of those through whom rock'n'roll came about. 1977 also marked the advent of the punk movement. It's like the end of an era that can be read implicitly through this lyric record. --Herve Comte Product Description Presley, Elvis
