Great Big Sea's second album adds a dash of Newfoundland brine to Celtic songs and sounds. The band rushes through Slade's deliriously catchy "Run Runaway" and the traditional "Mari-Mac" as if it were last call on a Saturday night, then puts the brakes on for laments like "The Chemical Worker's Song (Process Man)" and " Nothing Out of Nothing." "The Jolly Butcher" and "The Old Black Rum" cheerfully recall an age before 12-step programs or even Prohibition.
