Populated with endearing extraterrestrial critters and faithful to the spirit that made the success of the first episode, Men in Black II continues to bring out the humor and dynamism of the association of its two heroes: Tommy Lee Jones as an impassive sage and Will Smith as a crazy young dog. Despite some predictable elements and a rather light female character (which makes us regret the one played by Linda Fiorentino in the first), the tandem always proves to be a real strength in this film, spiced up, moreover, with tasty appearances of heads of poster like Michael Jackson and Martha Stewart. --Helen Faradji
