Details: None of this was supposed to happen. It was supposed to be a party, it was supposed to be like before, the happy-go-lucky nature of young adults, lives with promising futures, energy to spare, plans, and reachable dreams. Unremarkable families and quiet happiness... A beautiful early summer evening. A small camp by a lake very close to Granby. Four close buddies, the best of friends, have just finished their school year at the CEGEP. They are celebrating a successful school year, the beginning of the holidays, life, and the simple joy of having their whole lives ahead of them. At dinner, they had a bit too much beer, but you have to celebrate! The most brooding of the group, Geoffroy, has a mishap and must leave his friends to return to work. But the party picks up even more despite his departure. Later in the evening, it is the big guy Lambert who had the right, albeit absurd and daring, idea: a midnight waterskiing session! The neighbor's boat is there and they know where the key is hidden... Théo, the youngest, hesitates a bit because he is the one tasked with fetching the craft. But the other two are convincing. Half an hour later, Théo is at the helm of the large outboard motorboat. Lambert and Olivier are slalom skiing on the calm water of the big lake. The moonless night has plunged everything into an impenetrable black. Théo, alone in the boat, makes a turn too close to the shore. The joyful shouts of the three young men echo in the mountains, then there is an infernal, dry, heavy sound. The two skiers hit the dock head-on. Théo calls out to his buddies: ''You guys okay, dude?'' No answer comes.
