It must have been a party, it must have been like before, the happy carelessness of young adults, life promised to a bright future, energy to spare, projects, accessible dreams. Uneventful families and quiet happiness... A magnificent early summer evening. A small camp on the edge of a lake near Granby. Four great friends, the best friends in the world, have just finished their school year at CEGEP. They celebrate their successful school year, the start of vacation, life, the simple happiness of having their whole life ahead of them. At supper, they forced the beer a little but we have to celebrate! The darkest of the gang, Geoffroy, has a setback and has to leave his friends to go back to work. But the party starts again despite this defection. Later in the evening, it was the great Lambert who had the good idea, absurd and daring: a water ski tour under the stars! The neighbour's boat is there and we know where the key is hidden... Théo, the youngest, hesitates a little because he is the one who has been given the mandate to go get the machine. But the other two are convincing. Half an hour later, Theo is at the wheel of the big speedboat. Lambert and Olivier slalom on the calm water of the large lake. The moonless night has plunged everything into pitch black. Theo, alone in the boat, makes a turn too close to the shore. The joyful cries of the three young men reverberate in the mountains, then there is an infernal noise, dry, heavy. The two skiers hit the dock head-on. Theo calls his buddies: ''Are you okay, dude?'' No response comes.
