Details: Product Description Serbian musician and composer Goran Bregovic created these musical masterpieces from the critically acclaimed 1995 film UNDERGROUND, his third collaboration with director Emir Kusturca. The film was awarded the coveted Palme d'Or at the 1995 Cannes Film Festival. Many of the pieces were inspired by traditional melodies of Gypsy music. Amazon.ca Two years after winning a Palme d'Or in 1985 for Dad is on a business trip, Emir Kusturica does it again with Underground. As usual, the Yugoslavian calls on his lifelong friend, Goran Bregovic. Because Kusturica has a real knowledge of the musical traditions of his country. The man, ex-punk, played bass between 1986 and 1988 with Zabranjeno Pusenje in other words No Smoking (which rises from the ashes at the dawn of the second millennium). So the music of Underground navigates between jazz, folk and gypsy music, country, pop and Turkish marches. The score hangs party favors and streamers on carnival tunes. She breaks down a Slavic poetry spread out in the debauchery of a baroque universe crossed by the nostalgic voice of Cesaria Evora. His saudade titled "Ausencia" illuminates this odds and ends with rhythms influenced by gypsy culture. --Sabrina Silamo
